Giraffes are very tall… adults can be 5 meters or 17 feet tall ! They have very good eyes too, and because they’re so tall, they can see far across the grasslands where they live, making it easy to spot predators from a distance. Other grassland animals – zebras, antelope, and wildebeests – often stay near giraffes to take advantage of their ability to see danger from a distance… so the giraffe is like the early warning system of the African grasslands !
