PAPO’s Zebra is a mystery. Is it white, with black stripes… or black, with white stripes?

Zebras are members of the horse family, which seem obvious! They have excellent hearing and eyesight and can run at speeds of up to 56 kilometers per hour (35 miles per hour). They also have a powerful kick that can cause serious injury to a predator like a lion, a hyena, or an African wild dog.

But are they white… or black? They’re black, with white stripes! It turns out that under all that fur, zebras have black skin, too. A shaved zebra, without any stripes, would look a lot like a black horse.

Zebra is approx. 10 cm/4″ tall.
