The Octopus is one of the oldest creatures in the world, originating almost 300 million years ago.
Octopuses have blue blood, and 3 hearts ! They’re also incredibly smart. Octopuses can find their way through mazes, solve problems and then remember the answers, and they like to take thing apart, just for fun. Two-thirds of the neurons that form the brain of an octopus are in its arms, not its head… so the arms can solve problems by themselves – like how to open a shellfish – while the octopus is busy doing something else, like checking out an underwater cave for more food.
(Our Octopus is quite big – approx. 7.5″ in diameter.)
